Ralph Fiennes To Take On Harry Potter

London: After starring in critically acclaimed movies like The English Patient and Schindler's List, British hunk Ralph Fiennes is all set to star as `Voldermort` in the hugely popular Harry Potter series.

According to The Daily Mail, the 42-yaer old actor is in talks with the filmmakers, to play the part of Harry's arch enemy, `Voldermort`, who also killed his parents according to the books. If the deal comes through, Fiennes will appear in the next Potter flick Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Fiennes will also appear in the next three films in the series. "Oh, he'd be really good, but there's no one in place yet. Obviously, they are speaking to people, but that role has not yet been cast," said a spokesperson for the film. ANI

Well Voldermort is Tom Riddle. Tom Riddle killed his parents. I think this is stated in Chamber of Secrets if I am not mistaken.

This is a really bad quote. Is the article saying that Ralph Fiennes killed his parents or that Voldemort killed his parents? If it's Feinnes, then I'm v. sorry for him and his parents but I don't see what that has to do with his acting.(I don't think that this is correct by the way) If the article is suggesting that Voldemort killed his parents, then this is incorrect. In the first chapter of GoF, we go to the Riddle Mansion where we find out that Voldemort had killed his Father, Grandma and Grandfather 50+ years before. Voldemort/ Tom Riddle's Mum died just after she gave birth to him.

JKR says we are gonna find out more about Voldemort/Tom's life most particularly about the cirrcumstances of his birth.I wonder what his Mum was like? Was she a hag and therefore Tom was destined to become a bad-guy, or was she loving and sweet (even though she did give him Marvolo as a name!!) and the world would have been a v. different place and Tom and v. different guy, if she'd lived?
