Well I'm done so here comes the mad woman bit:
LOVED IT!!! So much better than the last book! I'm wondering whether the fact that I've been posting here, has sharoened my interest in the seemingly insignificant (therefore everyhting had a 'wow' factor) or that we'd been discussing stuff that was answered in like the first 50 pages, that made me go "WOW!" "OHH NO!!" and "Well, will you look at that" a lot.
So our big 'clue', that "quote from the HBP" - you know the one about the bloke with long ginger hair, grizzled with grey, a graceful gait with limp, etc - ended up being IN the HBP not ABOUT the HBP!!! Tricky
I knew Dumb was gonna die but that was way too emotional. I reckon it might not be him though. here's my theory:
The bad guys have kidnapped Dumb and it was Petigrew on polyjuice Potion who badgered Harry into getting Slughorn's memory (didn't you think he was too pushy for Dumb?).
Another point is that Dumb's withered hand was never adequately explained. What if it was Petigrew who, 'cause his hand was missing, couldn't grow a proper hand even with Polyjuice.
Further more, Dumb. begs Snape not to kill him!!! THAT'S NOT DUMB!!
Why dumb trusted Snape has still not been explained properly, I reckon he did/does trust Snape. Snape is still a spy for Dumb and Dumb is still alive.
What do you think??????
Arguments against my theory include:
Dead Dumb didn't turn back into Petigrew (though we doon't know how long this normally takes I suppose).
Fawkes' lament and that he left Hoggers (he could have been called away by Dumb though).
Hey, what about the Fenrir Greyback character!! Fenrirbound, made me think of you!!
Ginny and Harry was a great touch I think. Really well handled I thought but the 'I can't be with you 'cause I care too much about you' thing was straight out of the 'Spiderman' movie!  |
