I know where you're getting this...
Something else is:
Hogwarts' school motto, "Draco Dormiens Norquam Titillandus", means "Never tickle a sleeping dragon."

A wand's length is in proportion to the owner's height.
Examples:
Harry is average height, and his wand is 11 inches.
Hagrid is enormous, and his wand is 16 inches.
Voldemort is described as tall, and his wand is 13 iinches.
Umbridge is very short and her wand is described as unusually short.
More evidence to back it up: Mr. Ollivander does all those measurements before selecting wands for you to try.

The Maruder's map is powerful magic. It seems to have artificial intelligence to know everyone's name who comes to the school. How does it do this?

The castle probably scans every person that is on the castle grounds, and the maurader's map is enchanted to display the scans with the person's name upon the map.
