Thumbs up

I wonder what you have to have to be a Slytherin, sure, you are almost always a pure-blood, and you are ALWAYS mean, and ''better'' than everyone else, but what else do you have to have to be a Slytherin. You are probably a follower of Lord Voldemort, or your parents are/were. But, you may just be absolutely fascinated by the Dark Arts (in a way that Voldemort uses them). Do you have to be pure-blood? Because Voldemort wasn't, his father was a muggle. And do you have to be mean, as one topic says, what if Tonks is a Slytherin, maybe not all Slytherins are mean, with their heads stuck up in the clouds, maybe that is just a mmajority of the Slytherins putting in that assumption.

The pass word to get into the Slytherin common room was 'pure blood' remember when Draco led Ron and Harry in (as Goyle and Crabbe)? The Slytherin's are obsessed with the idea of 'pure bloodedness' like the Nazi's were with with Aryian race (Jo makes this comparisson in an interview).

I know I've said this disjointed thought before but Voldemort's half/tainted blood is strange:

He's not ashamed of it; he chose Harry because of his half blood. Therefore, Voldemort thinks that there's power in the half blood; he knows that it's harder for half bloods in the magical world and, maybe, assumes Harry will be ... what: hardened (???) by this..???.... therefore, more of a threat/ more powerful than Neville because Harry is more like him, Voldemort...???

Voldemort, for all the reasons above, is also proud of his half bloodedness...??? An inferiority AND a superiority complex at the same time!!!> A superiority complex about the inferiority of his blood...?????

We are meant to find out more about Tom Riddles birth at some point, maybe that might explain a little more about the psychology of Voldy.

I reckon some Sltherins will come over to Dumbledore's/ our side, now the wars on. Remember that even the Deatheater Regalus (I think???) / Sirius's bro., tried to pull out when he saw what was expected of him. I think a lot of Slytherins like to talk 'pure blood' and act all elitest but when the war and killings start a happening, they'll choose the side of reason. What do you reckon????

"a superiority complex about inferiority" <--made sense to me!

When you think about it that IS weird.

Maybe a slytherin quality in the ability to weasle out of your own death pit. After all they seem to love to dig and wallow in their supperiority holes then climb out when realize the walls are goanna cave in on them

Hey HyperD!! Nice to hear from ya again mate!

Slytherin's are able to weasle... sorry... ferret out of trouble. What do you think about this Theadore Nott??? His Dar's a Deatheater, he can see threastles (sp?) and we are meant to "see more of him" (Jo clue so prob. isn't worth much - Bloody frustrating woman!) Will he join the intrepid trio??? Their link to Slytherin??

Gotta go... soccer's on the tele!!! Talk soon

As most of the pureblood wizarding race is gone, most of Slytherin house has to be of mixed blood. So what, pure by varying degrees? No, if it comes to a war between mixed blood adn pure blood, most Slytherins will side with the DA.
Side note - what if He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named chose Harry because he was more afraid of Neville's pure blood and knew he might be harder to defeat. And in recuperation, is glad focus is shifted away from Neville. Maybe that's why he's allowed Harry to live time after time.

Nice to be back (I was so busy with finals!)

Ho that is another posibility! Being the coward he Slytheriningly is he would pick the one he thinks to be weaker! (Obviously not the best idea though)

There's also the idea that Voldemort has simply lost his villanouse touch. You know getting a bit too old for the wand.

AND maybe he's ploting sinister things making his pawns beleive they're putting up a good fight only to pull a fiery apocalypse on them when they least suspect it!

Slytherins tend to be clever, though there's exceptions to every rule, it seems, Crabbe and Goyle are as dense as wood posts. Maybe they were placed there, because the other houses would kick them out.

What if the sorting hat's getting old? Maybe difunctional? 'Cause Crabbe and Goyle hadn't ought to be there for cleverness. Dense, dense, dense, dense.
