This is one of those weird fannon 'facts'.

K. so I'm showing off now. This is probably old to you but I just discovered this 'fannon' word and just had to use it. 'Cannon' means that it's a definate known thing; a fact we know is true because it's in the books or JKR's said it (a definate quote from her web site). 'Fannon' means that it's a thing that is so often written about in fan fiction that it's become 'known', 'fact'. Like an urban myth becomes a true story if enough people tell it.

I just found Slytherin4me's post and I AM FURIOUS!! I am a huge fan of Neville and believe him to be almost the focus of the stories. No more horrible trashing of Neville. If you must trash someone, trash a "slithering snake" or dead thing.
