I heard some rumors that there's going to be a new Minister of Magic in book 6. Anybody have any ideas of who it might be? And please, nobody say Mr. Weasley, there's no way he's it! :)

KaraC: Howdy stranger! Amelia Bones, Susan's mother, is currently Head of Magical Law Enforcement. She sat with Fudge and Umbridge during Harry's hearing after the Dementor attack. The chapter begins on page 137 in OOTP. I believe she is going to be the new Minister of Magic at least I hope so. She acted sensibly at Harry's hearing.

....I never made the connection between mother and daughter, that's neat. I suppose it could be Susan Bones, but (and no, I'm not saying this to irritate anyone) has there ever been a female Minister of Magic? I can't recall.

Hi KaraC: Woopths. I gave you some bad info. Amelia Bones is Susan's aunt, not mother. Sorry bout that. When it's late at night and my eyes look like road maps, the old brain short circuits from totin' the weary load. But yes, I do believe Amelia Bones will be the new Minister of Magic. I don't know how many witches have been minister in the past. None of the books give us that kind of history. However both witches and wizards seem to be on equal footing. Would you agree with that?

I'd hope so... 'cause when it's just one gender it becomes stereotypical and stereotypes suck! I remember kindergarten and my freind said she wanted to be president when she grew up. The boys yelled at her and made her cry sayin that she couldn't 'cause she was a girl... I later beat them up and got in major trounble for it...

faranaaz: we meet again. Evidently, on JKR's official site there is a copy of the Quibbler that has as a headline: "Fudge Flees Ministry". What do you reckon about that? Does he 'flee' because he's been fratinising with the enemy/ Deatheaters/ Malfoy? Is he a Deatheater?(naaaa) Was he on the take? Is there an uproar 'cause of his incompetence? (Yeah right, like that makes any poli. leave their pension... opps, I mean, leave their position.) My vote's for Susan too.

I think Fudge was probably sacked. True, there's many who stood behind him, but now that everyone knows he wrong...well... And yes, yes, I agree witches and wizards are on the same level, but that's not quite what I meant. I'm just not sure if there's been a whole lot of female ministers. I mean, its like that in real life, not a big deal. Just curious. :)
