Why do wizarding men wear robes instead of pants? Is it tradition? Do they enjoy the "freedom" (pardon me) that girls get? Is it because JK said they did, and that's all? Maybe they think its stylish and with it. What do you all think?
Zonko, have any ideas? :)

I definately think that it is weird that men wear robes, instead of pants, what if a breeze comes along. Lets hope everybody wears underwear! CURSE THE FLOOD CONTROL!

All the guys wear pants under the robes. Remember Snape got his leg injured in movie 1? Harry saw the injury in the girls bathroom after he and Ron fought the troll? Students wear pants when they're playing Quidditch although why they wear robes is beyond me. On a broom, robes add too much drag and slow the players down.

Brain Teaser: What number is on Harry's Quidditch uniform?
Hint: See the movie Prisoner of Azkaban.

Ahh, but those are the movies. In book 5, Snape only has underwear under his robes, hence the rude remark he recieved from Lily.
*smiles* Dominoe, a nice breeze (if not too string) can be quite refreshing sometimes!

But that was in the 'Good Old Days' before Harry's time. Now I am sure that even Hogwarts has adopted a few personal hygiene rules that include such modern advances as underwear and soap.

HOGWARTS DRESS RULES

1. All students must wear knickers at all times.

Your turn KaraC.

Indeed they are! Not only are knickers underwear, but they are considered an important part of a personal hygiene program endorsed by the federal government.
