Mcgonagall's Loyalties

"Professor McGonagall is a Death Eater
Hello! I'm new here. A friend recommended that I post my essay/theory here.

Theory/Observation: McGonagall is evil, a Death Eater, and possibly Voldemort's most devoted and trusted servant.
*Author/Theorist*: Me (a.k.a. goldenmoonrose, Kelsey)
Character(s) and/or artifact (s): McGonagall and other villians (see below cut)
Abstract/summary: McGonagall is very suspicious and she often hinders the good guys, never really doing anything of value. JKR is such a good writer, we must assume that McGonagall has a bigger purpose. The seventh book needs a final grand reveal, and--in every mystery--it's the person we least suspect.

Ok, when I started reading, I thought, "Whatever, this person has no clue.."
But things got a little more interesting as I read...you'll see!

P.S. - It's really annoying me that McGonagall turns into Mcgonagall in the subject bar when I hit "post." Is there any way to fix this...?

Professor McGonagall is simply very self-controlled and well-mannered lady!!!

It is a very interesting idea, but I think the theory is mostly a collection of poor interpretations of events in the books. Sometimes the person actually says something that we know not to be the case.

I'm going to have to agree with Abs on this one. Its very interesting, but even if everything this person said wasn't mostly opinion, there are way to many flaws in the theory. S/he does deserve some credit for the time s/he obviously spent on it, though.

hmmm this was definintely fun to read! not sure what i think, mcgonagall is suspicious but i think it might be a bit far-fetched to say she's a death eater. as for being "shape shifting" and "manipulative", being a transfiguration teacher can have nothing to do with that because when Dumbledore was a professor he also taught transfiguration! but you have got me thinking and its a great idea!
still dont think i believe it, but if it turns out to be true i'll eat my hat in honour of you and your genius!

I'm not buying into it. McGonogall may be a slightly unusual character - aren't they all? But she's no death eater. As someone says the world isn't divided up into good people and death eaters. Among the non-death eaters there are good people and not so good people - not saying that McGonogall is a not so good person. She has a purpose in the series - sort of to be the really strict teacher, what kind of school would it be if it didn't have one? But she's also got a human side to her - as seen by her love of Quidditch and some of the funny remarks she makes (her instructions to Peeves on wrecking the school in book 5).

I'm always trying to convince people of McGonagall's true identity - of the death eater that she is, but no one ever believes me! I totally agree with this essay and I think that in book 7 we will find out that McGonagall isnt who we think she is. I've always felt this way, and I'm so happy to find out that I'm not the only one! You all wait and see! McGonagall is evil!

McGonagle is not a deatheater thats just ridiculus to believe. If she were why wasnt she the one to bring harry to Voldemort. She could have done so much sooner and Voldemort would have had a better chance at defeating harry. If McGonagal were a death eater harry would have found out by now.

McGonagall wouldn't have brought Harry to Voldemort for two reason - First: She wants to pretend shes on Dumbledore's side as to pass on information to the death eaters and such and Second: SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE VOLDEMORT WAS!!!!! Everyone thought he was dead and past! It wasn't until the 4th book that he came back and his death eaters knew he was still alive. McGonagall probably thought, like the rest, that he was dead which is why she didn't bring Harry to him.

Well,idea as idea os great but that is apsurde cause she is not evil and she is not like Snape!
