Character Analysis

Well I must say Buffy you are nothing if not descprtive. it makes sense, but still their are holes, if V was talking about Luppin then why did he not refer to snape. We know he was a death Eater, so does he not count......... surely he does. He must becuase he was a full death Eater. I think lupin would die for Harry, he is just that kind hearted.

PDog: Ta I like to use adjectives a very, very lot. Don't get me wrong. It's painful for me to post this theory. I like Lupin as much as the next nut and am extremely disappointed in him if it cames true, but someone's gotta die and someone's gotta spy because.... well it rhymes. Are you talking 'bout V in the graveyard? If so, V. didn't refer to any of the 6 non-attending Deatheaters by name or those (number?) "he passed in silence" by name either.

Angelus: ANOTHER BUffy buff perchance??? That makes 4 of us Buffy/Harry half breeds that are outed on this site. How very, very, very exciting (see above for reference to adjectives). Ta for the "looks good on paper" I need all the support I can get on this one!! Mad-eye's been taken in before, I don't think he's infallible but here's where that Lupin and occulency thingy comes in (see below for my plea for help with this one).

James: Ta but I see my 'genius theory' has become "pretty good points" quickly... that's fine. By the end of posting I think I was having doubts about the 'genius' shinannigans too.
You make an excellent point: D says "Are you ready to do your duty..". I'd forgotten that BUT why, in interviews, hasn't JKR just said that "it was Snape. Derrr"? What about Lupin being one of the silent Deatheaters? We only get to see and hear Malfoy etc. Why are there just a few others that we don't know? What's the point of them? I smell a werefolf. She's keeping this point in a holding pattern for some reason.
#2 If you are familiar with any of my other postings on this site James, you will notice that I do not 'deal' with people 'just being friends' at all thank very very much!!
#3 I don't think JKR brings in a principal character and just keeps 'em hovering about out of a sense of loyalty to them. Lupin's got a big part to play still obviously but I'm just thinking that he had a big part to play in the past and I don't think it was all good.

My focus became trained on Lupin because, when reading the postings on the Leaky Culdron site - partic. the discussion of the PoA foreshadows events. The two, in my opinion, strongest arguments were for Lupin loved Lily and Hermione becomes a werefolf. ( Hey?:What if these are linked in some way? Man, and you thought I was reaching before!!!) These theories did make me think about Lupin and what we don't know about him - most relevant to this: what does he do all day? - this thought attached to the stuff about Lupin loving Lily and being separated from his mates for some reason. These thoughts kind of slopped over into my memory of all the stuff that's been posted out there about 'who's the missing Deatheater?' and of course the clincher: JKR's 'chilled' comments!

If anyone else could help me find that Lupin does occulency bit I'd be eternally grateful and I would be full of great 'cause that would help my theory muchly.

Yes and Angel// Someone said in an earlier post Lupin was "kind hearted" I agree, and do not think he could ever take a life, but people do change. What would V want a werewolf for, to cause havoc wilst he did his "dirty deeds" maybe, but werewolves are hard to control and you have to plan around the phases of the moon.

Where did Hermione becoming one come from? I think she is to smart of a witch to be taken by such a "governed" creature.

Lupin may know occlumency I'm not saying he doesnt but no where in the book does it say he does besides if he had been good at occlumency then why didnt D have him teach Harry instead fo Snape I would think that would have been a much better idea. And before you say it was because Snape was there and Lupin wasnt. You must realize D chould have gotten him there once a week with no problems. Beside's like you say Lupin didnt have anything to do all day anyway.

OK he may fool Moody, but they hung around alot in ootp (I think) and what of Tonks she was a Auror also. Could he fool both? Is he that good? Are they that bad? What of his good friend Sirius and/or James, they knew each other well. Did he join after James died? Sirius went to Azkaban? Why would anyone join after V was defeated? Or maybe he is a DE "reformed" and getting his own information to take to.....D? No that's Snape? Maybe the Minister? I don't think he's smart enough. Then who?

Yeah a few others were saying Herminoe's too smart to become a werewolf. Sorry I haven;t posted my notes on the main theories that I've knobled from other sites' chat rooms yet. What they are referring to is that JKR's said that scenes that were ONLY in the PoA movie/ not in the book, foreshadows events in the books. (Thought I'd reiterate that bit) In the movie Hermione says in the Defence against the Dark Arts class, that werewolves only recognise there own kind. Then when Hermione calls/howls werewolf-Lupin, werewolf-Lupin sniffs the air and answers/ follows her call. So, people are saying that this is a portent to Hermione becoming a werewolf. I'm not making the best case for this theory and recommend taht you read others' reasoning in Leaky Lounge of the Leaky Culdron site.

Another popular theory is that Fudge will die because a crow lands on his head. I don't like this one so much. Even though we know we'll get a new Minister of Magic in the 6th, I don't see how having Fudge there or not will be an 'event' of the last books.

Another theory is , of course, that Ron and Hermione will get together. To this I answer with a resounding 'Derrrrr'

By far the best theory and the strogest AND TOTALLY uncontestable, is that Lupin was in love with Lily (please see above for irrefutable evidence of this claim).

There are others, like that Ron will become a werewolf because he roared like a lion???? when eating magic lollies. Or that Ron is the heir of Gryffyndor for the same reason.

Harry saw Sirius's face in the crystal ball in the movie, is supposed to carry some kind of significance...??? That Mrs Weasley saying "Now don't lose him!" as she places Scaggers in Ron's hand is meant to mean that the Weasley's knoew Scabbers was Petter Pettigrew and were being blackmailed to keep him safe... ????

I see your reasonings, the character of a werewolf is to "kill" any and all things, so the only thing that would/could pull it off other "prey" would be another of its kind. You got me there, I can't wait to see if they are still in school when that takes place.

Either that or find a mate!!!??? were-Lupin and were-Hermione sittin' in atree, K-i-s-s-i-n-g... See I told you I don't get that 'they're only friends' thing.

Hermione is not a Werewolf yet, not that I believe she ever will be. The only way your theory works is if Hernione is already a werewolf. You quote that they are reconized by thier own kind and Hermione figured out Lupin was one so she must be one of thier kind? Yet James Sirius and Peter figured out what he was to and I don't believe any of them to be werewolf's.

If you want to go with finding a mate theory, then I will have to retract my last statement. He would of had to identify the "female" voice, not that they couldn't (I've never heard of it myself) but we can't so that would be jumping to conclusions on our part, or maybe he wasn't having such good luck with the "first" set (Sirius guarding) so he took out after easier prey.
