That's a brillant point shelby!! I never thought of that.

You are right 'cause if Snape owed James 'cause James stopped Siverius from going down the hole straight into were/Lupin, Harry must owe Snape for stopping Harry falling off his broom!!! Therefore, any residule debt is repaid. IT'S BRILLANT!! You are the cleverest lil shelby I EVER met!!!

So there's no chip on Snape's shoulder. He's just a nasty bastard. So simple! So clear now!! I'm so happy!!

So where does this leave the role of Snape?? Will die? Will he die saving Harry?? Will Harry and Siverius become brothers in arms/ wands and be reconciled?/ Will Snape become Harry's guardian?

What ya think???

i think snape will save harry again because that is kind of his duty in the order of the pheonix to protect harry and others from voldemort
its bound to happen sometime

and the arm in arm thing i dont think that will ever happen

Its certainly hard to ever picture Harry and Snape as best of buds, But...
It would certainly make for interesting print. Harry ends up knowing he has been aided the greatest by snape and therefore can't live without him. They find the greatest compliment in each other.

shelby14: te arm i arm thing got me thinking. On the spine of our (ie Australian/UK) edition of the HBP, we have a couple of arms holding hands. Are they united or are they arm wrestling?? Ambiguos metaphors either way

fenrirbound: Yep. Dumb has to die. Sad but true, I reckon.
Snape must either die or become Harry's guardian. In order for the latter, Lupin has to die (or his true identity as a spy must be revealed!!). Not pleasant either way. I'm with Jo when she says that she wouldn;t be any of the characters 'cause she knows what they're in for.

What do you think of the other theories I brought over from other sites??
Fudge will die???
Ron will be Heir of Gryffindor (I don't quite see how this works chronologically)??
Hermione will become a were wolf???
lupin loves Lily??/
Lupin is a spy for Voldy?(thought I'd slip that one in)
What does Seamus's ring thing mean??/ (See 'Clues' topic on this site)

I've mentioned/ranted this little Dumbledore qualm of mine before somewhere but I think it bares repeating here. Dumbledore's apparent unwillingness to kill Voldemort whilst duelling in the 5th, irks me. D is meant to love Harry and his priority is, supposedly, to save him. Added to this, D knows that Harry must kill or be killed by V. Why doesn't D kill V? Why does he seem determined to deliver Harry into the gladiator ring and simply hope he'll be OK? Offering up a human sacrifice (AND a Harry one at that) just because of something some bleary-eyed bit said in a pub once??!!

I find it hard to believe that D can't kill V. We are told that D is the most powerful wiz. Though V might know dark magic D does not, it is inferred (by McGonagall(sp?) particularly) that that is D's choice but that these powers are not out of his reach; his moral superiority makes him 'above' such dark powers but not necessarily unable to grasp them.
[/b]
K. So Jo has, since the above, said that the fact that Dumby didn't try to kill Voldemort IS important. So I suggest you go back and read the brillance of other posties' posts on this topic and add your own lil' bit of brillance to this point. If Dumby is THE most powerful wizard aand he knows what's at stake/ Harry is at threat, why doesn't he even try to kill Voldy when duelling him in the 5th??

ps. How do I quoate more than one person??
