Character Analyse this:

Don't you think it's strange that Sirius, in GoF, when the trio are visiting him in his cave over Hogsmead, is kinda judging Mr Crouch Snr for his treatment of Winky? He says, something like, "If you want to know the measure of a person, see how they treat their 'lessers', those that work for him." Bloody cheek considering how he treated Kreature. Do you think this might have been a sign of things to come???

Talking of preminissions, how about Ron, in GoF, talking about how Percy was .."Really ambitious. He could sell his own family out.." (something like that)??? Then he does in OotP???

There are other 'messages'/prophecies for us too. Like when Ron reads harry's charts and says that Harry will be "stabbed in the back by a friend" and a couple of weeks later, Ron doesn't believe that harry didn't put his own name in for the Triwazard Tournament????

Maybe, just maybe, the old, frequently derided Divinations, has got a part to play. What ya reckon??????????

I think there's something at the end of OotP about how Sirius should have treated Kreacher better - Harry gets very angry at this suggestion (surprise, surprise) and says something like Kreacher was scum - but yes, this does point at a certain amount of hypocrisy on Sirius's part. I think Dumbeldore's explanation for it runs along the lines of Kreacher stood for a part of Sirius's life that he hated and detested and therefore couldn't stand to even treat with the remotest ounce of dignity.

Yeah, though, I think there's quite a lot to be said for Divination, actually, particullarly on Ron's part - it's this idea that makes me think that ultimately, Ron's predictions that Snape is going to turn to the Dark Side are going to come true (sorry all you people who are trying to push the whole Snape/Harry life debt thing, but I don't buy it) after all, he's been saying since book one that Snape's evil and not to be trusted. I picked up on the Percy thing myself (which is what started me thinking along the lines of Ron as some kind of psychic medium) and there's also another one in GoF. Just after they've been to the kitchens to see Dobby and Winky, Ron says something along the lines of "Percy wouldn't recognise a joke if danced in front of him wearing Dobby's tea cosy". The premonition here, of course, is that Crouch Snr. was essentially a joke (being controlled by V. by this point) and Percy didn't even recognise there was anything wrong - possibly because he didn't want to, it has to be said.

So, yeah, anyway, I reckon it'll be well worth looking at any predicitons Ron makes in the next book (only three days! Woo Hoo!) quite closely.

Ta so much for the proper spelling of premonition!! That was hurting me! Spell check PLEASE!!!

Yep. I reckon they/Harry tries to justify Sirius' conduct towards Kreature and it is kinda justified 'cause he's trapped in this awful situation with the nasty critter. Interesting though. I reckon we are meant to look and find these lil trinkets of clues.

Wouldn't it be funny if Ron ends up becoming a shawl wearing, tea leaves reading Divination teacher!!?? That would be a lovely lil twist Divine even

Don't know if we can include the 'Percy wouldn't recognise a joke .." line as a prediction but. Sorry mate. I think it's just a statement of fact.

Yeah a few others were saying Herminoe's too smart to become a werewolf. Sorry I haven;t posted my notes on the main theories that I've knobled from other sites' chat rooms yet. What they are referring to is that JKR's said that scenes that were ONLY in the PoA movie/ not in the book, foreshadows events in the books. (Thought I'd reiterate that bit) In the movie Hermione says in the Defence against the Dark Arts class, that werewolves only recognise there own kind. Then when Hermione calls/howls werewolf-Lupin, werewolf-Lupin sniffs the air and answers/ follows her call. So, people are saying that this is a portent to Hermione becoming a werewolf. I'm not making the best case for this theory and recommend taht you read others' reasoning in Leaky Lounge of the Leaky Culdron site.

Another popular theory is that Fudge will die because a crow lands on his head. I don't like this one so much. Even though we know we'll get a new Minister of Magic in the 6th, I don't see how having Fudge there or not will be an 'event' of the last books.

Another theory is , of course, that Ron and Hermione will get together. To this I answer with a resounding 'Derrrrr'

By far the best theory and the strogest AND TOTALLY uncontestable, is that Lupin was in love with Lily (please see above for irrefutable evidence of this claim).

There are others, like that Ron will become a werewolf because he roared like a lion???? when eating magic lollies. Or that Ron is the heir of Gryffyndor for the same reason.

Harry saw Sirius's face in the crystal ball in the movie, is supposed to carry some kind of significance...??? That Mrs Weasley saying "Now don't lose him!" as she places Scaggers in Ron's hand is meant to mean that the Weasley's knoew Scabbers was Petter Pettigrew and were being blackmailed to keep him safe... ????

My whole 'Lupin is a Deatheater' thing ain't looking so bad now is it!!!!
Thought I'd better bring this post back into the loop 'cause Slopeydope was talking about these theories, posted on mugglenet, and therefore they've become relevant again. Also, sorry I stuffed up the 'Hermione becomes a werewolf' theory in the previous post. Kinda been a while since I've read these thoughts- THESE ARE NOT MY THOUGHTS Ive brought them over from Mugglenet.

Ok, so I have a question which is completely off topic, but I don't really know where to post it. I am just re-reading GoF, haven't quite finished it yet, but the first chapter of the book really caught my attention. It talks about how the Riddle family was killed fifty years ago, and that the family consisted of the mother/father, and a GROWN son - Tom Riddle. It also says that the accused gardener said that he had seen a stranger, pale faced dark haired teenager, lurking around. What happened here? Did Tom/Voldemort kill the family, but how did he kill himself? Why was the Tom Riddle that was killed described as grown up, when we found out in the second book that Tom was a teenager at Hogwarts fifty years ago? I haven't finished the book, it might be explained there or in OoP, but if someone could clear up what happened to the Riddles, I would really appreciate it!

carasara: Tom Riddle/Voldemort is Tom Riddle Junior. He was named after his father. He comes back to his father's house (Tom Riddle Snr.) when he is a teenager and kills his father and grandparents (the Riddles). Voldemort explains his name in the Chamber of Secrets (at the end of book 2) and explains how he killed his father and grandparents in the graveyard scene at the end of book 4.

The thing that always stuffed me is the age that this would make Voldemort, Hagrid (who was at school with Tom Riddle Jr) and Dumbledore until I read Jo's posting on this subject. She explained that magicals live much longer lives than us muggles.

I've always thought that Snape will proably die (along with Dumb, Lupin, Grawp and/or Hagrid... depends what kinda mood I'm in really) but I gotta admit to kinda liking the 'Harry and Snape' ship.

The whole 'Snape has a chip on his shoulder 'cause he owes James a 'life debt' which transferred to Harry, and as soon as he repays it, Snape will be redeamed' thing, is kinda a nice twist.

shelby14: I think you may be right
