At the same time though, Dumbledore is already waging war against Voldemort. the one of the huge reasons the Order is in secret (aside from Voldemort finding out important members of course) is because he knows the Ministry would immediately jump on his back.
I believe that war should be avoided when possible, but I also think that there's a time when one has to quit running and take a stand.

You've hit the nail on the head KaraC! Ministry officials are quick to jump to conclusions with little or no information. They respond in the usual knee-jerk fashion. History teaches us that when official agencies are reactionary, the consequences can be devastating. Dumbledore is no fool. He knows his enemies operate out of two camps--Voldemort's and The Ministry's.

Neither is Dumbledore a coward. War is always an option but he knows it must never be the first option. War is so unforgiving of all creatures that it can only be the LAST option.

For everything else, there is Mugglemastercard.

...I abhore flood control. It does nothing but make me angry.
Anyway...
Zonko, you think the American Presendency is like the Ministry? I was actually seeing Preseident Bush rather like Dumbledore, except for the part about keeping everything secret, of course. Bush is a pretty straight talker who says everything as it is. :)

KaraC: At the time President Bush jumped to the conclusion that Iraq was responsible for 911, there were still many options available for dealing with the situation. As I said before, war is always an option. A wise leader knows that war is the LAST option. President Bush chose war as his first option.

The terrorists who bombed the WTC were Saudis. The money used to support their actions was Saudi money. Osama Bin Laden and his most trusted pals are Saudi. The USA invaded Iraq. Circle the statement that does not fit.

Before George Bush was elected, I was arguing with my friends on the subject of "Why Would Anyone Want to be Presidetn." My observation was that George W. wanted to be president so that he could get back at Sadaam Hussein who attempted an assasination plot against George Sr. My prediction was that if George W. was elected, we would be at war with Iraq. My friends figured I'd gone mental.

Then George W. was elected. He appointed to his cabinet, the same dancing nancys that worked for his father during Operation Desert Storm. The WTC was bombed by Saudi terrorists and the USA invaded Iraq. And there you have it.

We are both looking at the same landscape through different windows. Naturally, the perspective changes. Don't take it personally. The problem is that once you discover that there is no Santa Claus, you can't go back and believe in him again.

Nope, I don't take it personally.
But I'm confused by your statement. The Saudis bombed the WTC, so bush attacked Iraq? It was about a year after 911 before we jumped into Iraq. We went to (uh oh. spelling) Afganistan to find Osama, and his buddies. We only went to Iraq when we recieved reports that said they had WMD. I don't think president Bush would've gone in so quickly, but 911 was still fresh in his mind, and he was terrified we might have to go through another attack like that.

The terrorists who bombed WTC were lead by Saudis using Saudi money. Why does anybody do anything? BECAUSE THEY CAN.

The USA invaded Iraq. BECAUSE IT COULD. Nobody can stop the USA doing anything it wants to do because it is the biggest kid on the block. Do you think terrorism only comes from small, poor countries?
