I'm a huge Stephen King fab, so I'll be reading the sixth and seventh books in his Dark Tower series, which I think are probably on equal footing with th HP series, but perhaps a bit more mature.
[/b]
My wife likes Stephen King. Me not so much. I dont think that he knows how to finish a book. but there are worse writers.
[/b]

Gah!

He is... without a doubt the best novelist EVER.

His stories are brilliant and incredibly detailed. He's the only writer able to effectively scare me with words. He's a genius, and your wife seems like a smart woman. Lol.

well yeah she is a smart woman she married me

Well I just finished reading a series by Sara Douglass a little bit ago. Its called the Wayfarer Redemption. It has 6 books in it and is a fantasy series(Kinda like Lord of the Rings). I have to say, it is very close to being as good as Harry Potter, maybe even better in my opinion. Right now those are my two favorite series. I would recommend that to anybody who likes a good action/fantasy book. It is very good. When I finished that, I decided to just reread the Half Blood Prince. I just finished that yesterday. Alot of things in there that I dont remember reading the first time through. And I just started the City of Splendors by Ed Greenwood and Elaine Cunningham. Its in the Forgotten Realms series or whatever that would be called.

The best 3-book series I read was by Anne Rice. The books read in order is (The Witchig Hour (Lives of the Mayfair Witches) - Lasher - Taltos.)

The witching hour is 400 pages, Lasher is 640 pages, and taltos is 576 pages.

It will keep you busy at least until the final Harry Potter book comes out.

I've just finished "The Book of Learning and Forgetting," by Frank Smith.
It explains why school stinks and why your teachers are jerks.

My kid recently discovered Lovecraft's books (kind of like Edgar Alan Poe) and made me read some, but it didn't grab me the way it got him.
