| Aha! I just had a thought! Remember in the PoA Harry fell off his broom and Dumbledore slowed down his fall? And you know how Dumbledore fell all the way to the ground from the toop of the asronomy tower? Well, couldn't Dumbldore have slowed down his own fall so he didn't die? Obviously, that would mean that he wasn't dead when he began to fall. I have long toyed with the idea that if Snape didn't mean the Avada Kedavra curse, it would have just thrown him off his feet (and off the astronomy tower!) and not killed him. Like the Cruciatus Curse did to Bellatrix Lestrange at the Ministry, because Harry didn't really really really want to cause her excruciating pain. Harry was knocked out for awhile when he fell off his broom. Dumbledore definately would have been for longer than Harry was. And so, that brings us to the funeral, where Dumbledore's body was burnt. I have already said this somewhere but Dumbledore, or someone else, could have performed a flame freezing charm (mentioned at the start of bk three) and thus, survived. Or... Dumbledore drank the Drought of the Living Death in the cave (it was the water). He makes it all the way back to Hogwarts and chats with Draco, fighting off the potion all the while. Snape comes along and Dumbledore reminds him to perform the Avada Kedavra (Severus...please...) because Snape is worried about the fact that everyone will want to murder him. Snape does the deed, and the force of the spell throws Dumbledore off the tower but does not kill him. The force of Avada Kedavra also breaks the body bind on Harry and finally Dumbledore is knocked out by the combined power of the potion and Avada Kedavra. Snape slows him down before he hits the ground. Thoughts? |

| I'm still not convinced he's alive, though I can think of all these scenarios that shows how he could have lived. I still think that JK is misleading us to believe something that's really quite a straightforward matter. |

| Oh! So your saying since the Phoenix can die and be reborn you think that Dumbledore can too? Explain to me how that would work. I don't think that Dumbledore would want to live forever like Fawkes. It's seems to unnatural. Wouldn't Dumbledore be kinda like Voldemort, in a sence, because they will both live forever, if your theory is true, ya kno. |

JK constantly associates Dumbledore with the Pheonix. This is no accident. |

Especially the part, "I can't believe I haven't heard someone talk about this before!" You're just trying to make me tear my hair out or say something really stupid... right? Right? |

[/b][/quote] First of all, if I remember right, my comment was made before your astronomy tower thread. Second, this is a different idea than yours anyway. You say Snape went back in time and caught Dumbledore. This says Dumbledore slowed down his fall on his own. |

| If Snape went back in time he would be seen. Wouldn't he, because you can still be seen once you go back and that would be a little weird. Unless Snape used some charm that made him invisible, but then that would have been weird seeing a dead body moving around, ya kno. I confused myself. <_< |
