Hello and welcome all the new people. I like to think that we are not old. We all have very young minds and all quite enjoy the HP series. I am 32 and proud of this love of the series.

So if you are 20 years old or older, make it known in this thread. I think it would be interesting to know.

i'm 30 and have kids too little to read potter (although the kids have seen snippets of the movies), but i love the books so much. i have met only a couple of other adults who read them, most of the time i get blank stares when i ask people if they like harry potter. or when my kid holds a tire gauge and points it like a magic wand saying "expecto patronum" they don't get why i think it's cute.

just moved to a town where the library doesn't even have a complete set of hp books! eek...

new mexico! and the children with tire gauges is only in my yard, where a child's imagination turned a tire gauge into a magic wand. thanks for the welcome! luckily i have my own hp books, so i don't have to rely on the library. it's just weird because i lived in a town with 100 people and that library had all the hp's plus 1-4 on tape. priorities, you know.

I do know about library priorities. I'm a huge fan of Ian Irvine and our great big library here in Knoxville, TN has exactly 0 copies of his work. And JK's is always checked out. Luckily, you can find any book you want online.

in the library's defense, they have almost the complete works of mercedes lackey, and i love her work too. but as it's only 2 months till book 7, time to get out 1 thru 6 and read them again so i am refreshed. i've never read ian irvine, will look to see if they have it here. maybe the librarians haven't read hp, so that's why they don't have them? sometimes people don't know what they're missing. or maybe someone stole the missing copies and they don't replace them. maybe i should ask!

does your library offer interlibrary loan? maybe you could get books that way. i do that with books that i don't want to buy.
