No, that's not what Mione meant. He does different voices. I think Mione just meant that he doesn't to absurdly falsetto voices for female characters.
Obviously, at least three (I believe four) of the books came out before the first film did and you can tell that some of the actors modeled their voices after his versions. You can particularly hear it with Hagrid.

The guys name is Jim Dale by the way. On the U.S. version anyway. The Brit version is a different person.

Well, that depends on the length of the book of course. If you wanted to find the hour length per book, I'm sure you could find it real quickly online.
