Well I think Zonko has it correct when he says it is the traveler from book 3

The 'traveller' is that mysterious bloke who gave Hagrid Aragog in an egg. Zonko thinks that this 'traveller' might be the HBP because we meet him in CoS and JKR's said that something that Harry discovered in CoS will be important to book 6. I don't know about this theory 'cause JKR hasn't said that we've meet the HBP before just that there is a link between the books.

I wanna put tjis discussion back in the loop. So, I'm posting it to get it on to the first page of this board and, hopeflly, on to the frat page of 'View New messages'.

surprime witch: Quirelle had Voldemort sticking out of his head. You are right, Quirelle did meet Hagrid in the pub (in SS/PS) and 'gave'/ gambled with Hagrid so that Hagrid 'won', a dragon egg. Remember Norbet?? Quirelle did this to get Hagrid talking about Fluffy/ three headed dog guarding the trapdoor 'cause Quirelle/Voldemort needed to find out how to get passed Fluffy.

If zonko's theory about 'the traaveller' is correct, why isn't the 'mysterious Greek' bloke who gave Hagrid Fluffy, equally suspicious???

greek block gave fluffy........... timeing is everything.... think about the fact that this may have been befor the sorcerors stone? .... or like, hagrid bought ti from him.... cause he liked crazy critters?

because he was not mention in book 3 nor the movie, so it is most liky him in my oppinion, Believe me it has kept me up at night and i watch that movie like 12 time looking for it. I also think he is not entirely human. He can't be, or what if he is Prince of the Forest, and that is why the UK version have Harry and Dumbledore in the COVER, OMG I think that could be it

Prince of the Forrest??: Oberon?? Ohh no that's King of the Fairies isn't it???? Man I'll put money on Oberon as the HBP. Why not? Better than any other idea I've had.

Why do you think that we've been introduced to the HBP before? Nothing I've read suggestes this at all. I know that Jo's said that some of the story of the HBP once existed in CoS but this doesn't mean anything except that she did a bit of editing. (Which she forgot to do on the 5th- just my opinion!*makes mouth into a cat's bottom shape and looks extremly'put out'*) However, I can't see anything that suggests that the stories are linked NOW, just that once upon a time they were.

I reakon the story line that was in the CoS and will now be in HBP, is about the night the Potters died and the circumstance of Tom Riddle's birth. I don't think there'll be any link to who the HBP is in CoS.
