Who That Must Not Be Named.

Can someone tell me why no one speaks voledomorts name. What do they think is gonna happen if they say it? I really want to know i am addicted to the movies I watch one everyday cause i dont read. But i would appreciate it if someone told me what the deal was crikey!!

I think that the witches and wizards think that if they utter his name aloud, somehow Voldy's deatheaters will run and tell him... and they will become targets. Just a theory. Then again they may think that Voldy cast some charm that allows him and his followers to track anyone who speaks his name and thus kill them. I'm a bit confused about that too.

I'm confused about that too. But that was Voldy's wholoe intention, I think that everyone is just really afraid to say his name because then people will think that they work for him or something. Voldemort was trying to get that stature anyway, he wanted people to be so afraid of him that they would even fear just saying his name, thus increasing fear of him. How's that sound?

You may be on to something, GinnyWeasleyRocks! He is obsessed with being the most powerful and feared wizard alive. I remember in COS, when Tom and Harry were having a chat, Voldy says something like "Dumbledore's been driven out of this castle by the mere memory of me!" So, he seems quite pleased with his reputation.

Yep, and if you ask me, I'd say that someone's a show-off! *whispers behind hand* And I also personally think that someone is a little too in love with himself!

I'll say! Though he at least admits that Harry is a worthy opponent.

That was a total chaos at the US !! You couldn't even speak about Bin Laden or Bush because people could accuse you of being a spy, a terrorist or whatever !!! everybody was so afraid they were paranoid and I think that's the same on the books. When everybody is so affraid you can not speak about the thinks openly.
