i dont see how you could call snape cool considering what he did in t he half blood prince!

Snape is "cool."

He may not be so "cool" in the usual sense -- fashion sense, personability...

He is, however, "cool" in that he is in control of himself. He can, and did, do things that most of us could not. Faking Dumbledore's death was the least of it. Hanging out with Voldemort, pretending to be his servant, takes a lot of self-control.

He is also "cool" in that he is trustworthy.
