so that means he will be important in the 6th and at the end of the fifth it looks like he was a real important character

First of all neither Neville or his father could be the Half Blood Prince because it has already been established that Nevil comes from a pure blood family.

Second I agree that Neville's character is becoming more important. He has come a long way. Remember at first his family thought he might be a squib. He has always admitted and been reminded (mostly by Snape) that he is inferior. The fact that he made the most improvement of anyone in the DA says a lot. I think he has a new found confidence that will only mature and become stronger. He is after all in Griffendor not Huffelpuff. There is a bravery and courage in him that is only just beginning to come out.

In my opinion Neville in the 7th book becomes brave like his parents because he stands up to the Carrows and he cut off the head of Voldemort's snake. He is also brave because he tell Voldemort he will join the death eater side when heck freezes over. And his parents are brave because they were in the order of the Phoenix and that in my opinion that is being brave because the order fights Voldemort. Also I think Neville's parents are brave bacause they gave their health and sanity to Voldemort to save their only son.
