I think that Draco is in a very precarious position. He is a from a family with a long history of fascination with the dark arts and the pursuit of power and wealth. His father, Lucius, is practically Voldemort's right-hand man. On the other hand Malfoy has up until this point, been a coward, hiding behind Crabbe and Goyle, when there is any real fighting to be done. Even in HBP, he chickened out when the moment of truth came to kill Dumbledore. He's mean-spirited, and bred for the darkside, but he doesn't have the spine for true evil yet, like his dear old dad, Lucius.

That's my opinion and I'm stickin' 2 it!

Let me add this as an aside: I am firmly on Harry's and the Light's side, but...

I still think Lucius and Draco are a couple of sexy beasts!!!

I think you're right. Not about the sexy-beasts parts (whisch was funny) but about Malfoy and his cowardy. I don't think he will join the good side, that is so not him. But he will probably help the good side with his stupidity.

I think Malfoy is not so bad as he wants to look. But he is proud. He's hesitating and he is afraid of vodldy. Imagine that only sixteen years old boy must choose the sides. And nobody of good likes him.

Well, the fact that no one likes him is, to a great extent, Malfoy's own fault. However, it must be acknowledged that with a role model like Lucius, he pretty much didn't have any choice but to wind up being a king-sized, grade A, USDA certified git.

I don't think that Draco will join the good side.

I think that there will be one of two situations in book 7...
<div align="center">1. a final showdown between Harry and Draco, Harry winning (of course)
-or-
2. Voldemort will have already killed Draco for not killing Dumbledore by himself</div>

I think there still is a chance that Malfoy might at least help out the good side...

I think the "Dueling Club" might be foreshadowing a battle between Harry and Draco.

Though it could just be an introduction to dueling and its formalities but JKR tends to slip in events that seem meaningless but actually foreshadow future happenings.

What do you think?

Talking

I think that you could be right.
Like the fact that Hermione's cat hated Ron's rat in book three.
It didn't seem like much because it is very common but it was big.

Ooh, I hope I'm right! *Jumps up and down in excitement*
I don't usually catch the foreshadowing stuff.

I read on another member's post that the chess match from Book 1 could be foreshadowing the Wizard War in Book 7.

1. Hermione doesn't play into the fight much as the "straight-shooting" black castle. It fits her character as a straight-forward student.

2. The white faceless queen (Bellatrix-death eater) takes out many black pawns as well as a "Black" knight (Sirius Black), who happens to start the "war" right next to Harry. The war began in the department of mysteries...the same night an auror/ministry member saw Voldemort.

3. Then Ron, also a knight, sacrifices himself to the same white queen that killed the other "Black" knight so that Harry, the black bishop closest to the black king (Dumbledore), can check-mate the white king (Voldemort).

To recap...this theory shows Harry being very close to Dumbledore (who isn't really dead), predicts that Ron will distract and be killed by Bellatrix while Harry kills Voldemort.

Sounds good to me...what do you think?
