| So Dumbledore's master plan went just as he wanted it to up to when Harry woke up at King's Cross. However, it was only because Draco and, subsequently, Harry mastered the Elder Wand that Harry managed to defeat Voldemort (to my knowledge). What did Dumbledore intend for Harry to do had these accidental sequence of events not taken place? More than one Theory in this post...they are seperated by the red lines ______________________ Quote:
______________________ Also, the blood sacrifice didn't come into the picture until fourth year. I think the original plan was that Harry actually WOULD die, and then Dumbledore would finish Voldemort off because he was in possession of the Elder Wand. But then during fourth year, after the Triwizard Tournament, Dumbledore realized that Harry had a chance of surviving now, so the plan may have changed, giving Harry possession of the wand. Though I don't know why Dumbledore would do that when he could just kill Voldemort. The plan is interesting. Fanfiction has made me wonder whether Dumbledore put Harry at the Dursleys to advertently give him a low self-worth, so he would be more willing to risk his life for other people, having been starved of affection. But that's probably reading too much manipulation into Dumbledore's actions. ______________________ His plan may have been that Harry should get rid of the horcruxes, etc - and have the final battle armed with his pheonix hair wand, which had gained the extra power against Voldemort. At the same time he intended that LV should have the elder wand, but not be its master. This would give Harry an advantage. I am not sure how he planned for the fragment inside him. You can hardly count on someone coming back from dead. ______________________ If I'm recalling correctly, I believe Dumbledore did say that he had intended Snape to get the Elder Wand. But I don't think that wand was part of Dumbledore's plan for Harry defeating Voldemort. His #1 concern was that Voldemort "could" be killed in general, therefore destroying the horcruxes was Harry's primary mission. Remember, there are other ways of killing a mortal wizard than a wand duel. So if someone other than Snape ended up with the Elder Wand, it still wouldn't have ruined Dumbledore's master plan. ______________________ Two more points to consider:
I was thinking ORIGINAL plan-- before the blood sacrifice thing. was that there was no feasible way for Harry to survive. That gives me chills... now, reading the books over, all the happy and carefree moments with Dumbledore (well, comparatively carefree) seem a bit tainted.... But, then, Dumbledore didn't know about the Horcruxes, really, I suppose since he would have done something sooner, right? Unless he was waiting for him to rise again.... However, he knew Voldemort would come back... and that, somehow, he was immortal. I can see him having an inkling back then...wait! He did take the Horcrux books out of the library after Voldemort's time, didn't he? So... he must have known something.... I'm not sure.... Ugh. It's rather confusing. And I'm prattling on.... The triumphant gleam was so critical because Dumbledore had known that, before, Harry hadn't a means of escape, right? And, in the end...essentially...Voldemort was his own undoing for neglecting to try to understand that human foible*...love...and the way that sort of magic works. Whew.... Am I crazy? I must be. Yes, indeed. Too much thought. Done now! * = If you are wondering what that means... foible definition |Dictionary.com |

| after the 7th book i had to go back and reread some of the parts of the other books to refresh my memory... i do belive that dombledor had intended harry to kill voldy... but he him self was to finish off the horucuxes after mistakingly letting the ring get the better of him, he just wanted to see his sister and mother again, he thought himself not strong enough to chalenge voldy's other horucruxes alone... that is why he finaly let harry in on what was going on... knowing he was enevitably going to die, and suposedly by draco's hands, he had to think of a way to save more then one inocent, draco, that is why he made what plans he did make with snape, i do belive that dumbledor new full well that harry was going to have to die and tryed to keep him from that for as long as posible, when draco couldnt kill dumbledor he had an instant idea of what was going to happen, if the other paintings could converse as if they were still alive and have curent thoughts... then he would to being the headmaster, if any thing went wrong, then he would still be there in a sence, to manage his plan, with the assistance of snape i think his planed worked out how he had immagined, with a little twist or turn to get it there... sorry to ramble on about this.. i had many thoughts and odd dreams while reading this series like four or five times each book... now if only i had my books back,,, i could use some magic now and then. |
