Is there any chance that JK Rowling modeled Voldemort on Hitler AT ALL?

I keep coming over the similarities like:

• The fact that Voldemort wanted to take over everything (though i know that this CAN be debated)

• He wanted only pure-bloods, just like Hitler wanted only Aryan's. Then again...in Hitler's eyes...Aryan's were "pure-blood"

and probably more...that i cant think of at the moment

You make a fair point... in fact, I was thinking that myself.
Don't forget he wanted to slaughter Muggle-borns and Muggles... like Hitler wanted to slaughter the Jews, gypsies, etc.
Of course, Hitler, I think, did more damage than Voldemort managed to do... unless you count Voldemort's first rise to power... I don't know how many people he killed then...

In my eyes...Voldermort is the Hitler of the magical world.

And also...Voldemort was born in 1926...which would mean that if he was real...he was around when Hitler was at power...and may have got ideas from him...but that's maybe delving in a bit much lol

Voldemort was just a standard meglomaniac. I'm not sure he was modeled on any particular person, but I'd think JKR drew from historical figures such as Hitler.

I noticed that too!!!! I don't think she did it on purpose, I think that he was just kind of the general bad-guy type.

You're completely right. She DID model Voldemort after Hitler. Many of her Characters are modeled after famous historical figures, as well as many events in her book are modeled after famous historical events.

And... where did you hear this?

1) Hitler was a half-blood, he was half German and Jewish, yet he dispised all Jewish people when he himself was one. This is just like Voldemort because Voldemort hates all Muggles and non magical people, yet he is is a half muggle.

2) Both voldemort and Hitler had devoted followers for Voldemort he had the Death Eaters and for Hitler he had the S.S.

3)Both Voldemort and Hitler believed there ancestery were superior to other people. Voldemort came from the Gaunts which came from a direct line from Salizar Slythern whom himsefl hated nonmagical people. Hitler believed he was part of the master race.

4) Both Voldemort and Hitler have a symbol. Voldemort has the Death Eater sign which is a scull with a serpant coming out of its mouth. While Hitler had the Swastica.

hitler wasnt half jewish he had jewishblood in him but he was by no means anywhere near half jewish
