According to Mugglenet.com, J.K. Rowling has been named the ninth most powerful celebrity by Forbes. Said Forbes, "It was wizardry that transformed J.K. Rowling from a destitute single mother on welfare into a best-selling billionaire. Her adventures of teenage magician Harry Potter and his classmates at Hogwarts became a children's literary sensation in 1998 with the U.S. publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

Yeah, I heard she was on a train ride to London or somwhere when Harry Potter rushed into her head. That moment changed her entire life... Plus she also was supporting her daughter while teaching english classes. In her early years writing HP, she wrote them on napkins (especially sorcerer's stone). But remarkable story really; how one's life can change so dramatically for the better.
