I don't know about the legal rights and wrongs - it's just good manners!!!!
True. But the right side doesn't always win.
You just reminded me of an old discussion and I had to go digging.

How might the Barbie case law be relevant to Harry Potter? Has, or will, Harry become as much a part of our culture as Barbie?
I hope this new case doesn't go that way.
The point is just that it's not as simple as it seems. I wouldn't try to predict.

Yah! I was just thinking that exact same thing.
I mean ... Steve is just like us an obsessed FAN~ with excellent Librarian Skills.
But, just because Harry has become a 21st century cultural icon it doesn't give anyone the right to take it and use it to develop another body of work for profit!
Harry Potter is only 9 years old ...(as opposed to Barbie now 40) and JK is alive aand very much compose mentus and she is saying ...NO , I don't want your help!
I feel bad for Steve but, I hope JK wins.

I wish combine these threads. Any objections?
And to collect any others that fit this theme.
