In my other life today I did make this mistake. I have been corresponding with someone with an exotic name and I assume it was a woman. When I spoke with her for the first time a man answered and I assumed he was her father. Of course I just got it wrong, but I was surprised how much it threw me. And I didn't feel comfortable telling him I had thought he was a woman.

*Sniggers* I think I'd have to see what he was like... how he would take it. I don't think I've ever actually done that, but then I don't usually correspond with people beofre I meet face to face.

I actually thought about it when I made my account, but then I decided I would probably sound ranty enough that people who realize I was definitely female.
