In PoA, when Ron, Hermione and Harry were getting pulled into the Whomping Willow, Luipin saw them. But if he Saw them then Lupin would have seen Buckbeak hiding in the Forrest with Harry and Hermione from 3 hours away, and woukld have know he was alive

Do you mean that Lupin should have known Buckbeak was alive ?
Or Sirius was alive ?

I can see what you're getting at, but maybe he wasn't looking on that part of the map, but just on the part nearest to Hagrid's. I mean, the map is big and the names next to the people are minuscule.

Lupin knew who was alive? I know he said he seen walking out of Hagrid's with Peter. Like Demelza said the map is big with different folds maybe the forest area was folded in so he wouldn't have seen 'them' in forest.

If he seen Buckbeak was alive I don't think he'd care too much or even know that Buckbeak was the Hippogriff who was meant to be executed.

If he seen Sirus was alive - being he was old friends with wanted to see what he had to say for himself on what he was accused with those crimes.

If he saw them walking out of Hagrid's with Peter, then he would have HAD to see the 3 little names above the piece of forest near the ones with Scabbers. It would have caught his attention, as they would have been out in the grounds when they should have been in their Common Room.

It works for me.

Lupin said, "I watched you cross the grounds and enter Hahrid's hut. Twenty minutes later, you left Hagrid, and set off back toward the castle. But you were now accompanied by someone else... I couldn't believe my eyes... And then I saw another dot, moving fast toward you, labeled Siriujs Black... I saw him collide with you; I watched as he pulled two of you into the Whomping Willow...""

At this point, apparently, Lupin left his office and hurried down to the Willow.

Round Two:

H&H2 were in the broom closet in the deserted entrance hall when they heard the Trio pass and go down the front steps...

"If anyone's looking out of the window --" Hermione squeaked, looking up at the castle behind them.
"We'll run for it," said Harry determinedly. "Straight into the forrest, all right? We'll have to hide behind a tree or something and keep a lookout --"
"Ok, but we'll go around by the greenhouses!" said Hermione breathlesly. "We need to keep out of sight of Harid's front door, or we'll see us..."
...skirting around the Whomping Willow, tearing toward the shelter of the forrest...

H&H2 got to Hagrid's first. They took the longer route, but they ran the whole way. Lupin's focus was on the Trio and he didn't think to look at the other route. While the Trio were inside, H&H2 were mostly holding still -- again, no reason for Lupin to look for them.

The action began as the Trio was leaving Hagrid's.
Lupin would have been watching the Trio while H&H2 were stealing Buckbeak.
They finished that job in time to see Ron throw off the cloak and chase Scabbers.
Sirius came into the picture and dragged Ron and Scabbers into the Willow.
Beyond that point, Lupin doesn't seem to have the Map.

I think the story works, with just a little luck.

My big question is:
Why didn't Harry see Peter on the Map?

He received the Map from Fred & George on the last weekend before their Christmas break.
Scabbers faked his death around February -- not that it matters -- the Marauder's Map covers Hagrid's Hut.
The day they met Sirius and Peter was on the day of their last exam in June.
In all those months, and he never once looked at Ron? How could he have missed Scabbers?

I know in movie Harry seen Peter in the hallway and wemtto find him. Them Peter being Scabbers ran in past him then he seen Snape on the map, and we all know what happened for anyone that seen that part in movie.

Was that part in book I don't remember? After I re-read HP&HBP I am going to read all of them all over again to see if I can find and see things I didn't the first time.

I only saw the movie once and I don't remember that part.
When was it? What time of year / what else happened that day?

Remember though that in both the book and the movie Lupin takes the map from Harry after he works out that Harry has been using it to get to Hogsmeade (in the movie he takes it the same night that Harry sneaks out of bed to chase Pettigrew down). In the book its the day of the Hogsmeade visit after Christmas, and there is still snow on the ground - because Harry throws snowballs at Draco in Hogsmeade that day. So, it must be still wintertime. Maybe Harry just wasn't looking for Pettigrew on the map. His main use for it was to use it to get to Hogsmeade with - mainly to make sure no one could see him.

So did they add that part to the movie and it wasn't even in the book? See I can understand not putting everything in a movie bc like GoF the movie probably would have been 5-6 hours long but I hate it when they add things that werent in the book at all.
