Maybe I'm just obsessed, but I've never considered that a tiny or obscure detail. Now, if you want dates and numbers of say, Quidditch scores, I wouldn't be able to give you anything very accurate but plot explanations are ingrained into my understanding of the series.

That certainly wouldn't work in a mugge bank. But Gringotts is run by goblins, who have a very different culture. Maybe it's more neutral than a Swiss bank... Don't ask, don't tell...

Sirius didn't buy Harry the Firebolt because then Sirius would've died but I think that Dumbledore bought it and sent it to Sirius to give it to Harry

probably sirius gave money to dumbledore or someone and they bought it for him and then sent it to harry.
