Who Thinks That...

Professor Trelawney can actually predict things.

I do.

When you think about it, she actually DOES predict what happens.

For instance...Book 3

She predicts that;

What Lavender Brown is dreading will happen on October 16 IT DOES!!!
"Near Easter, One of us will leave us forever" - That was Hermione
She told Neville that one he had broken his first teacup, get a blue on, that happened
She says he will be late to calss next time, so he will need to catch up - He is
And then of coursde there was the one about Wormtail.

See? She CAN predict things. Just not under pressure. And she does get SOME things wrong.

You forgot to mention the Lightning-Struck Tower.
She has said a bunch of things, especially in the last book.

I think Dumbledore knows and that he's been deliberately holding her back.
Maybe for her own protection, maybe so that her information doesn't fall into the wrong hands, maybe both.
Her drinking and her pride also hold her back.
But I think her talents would be better developed with a little encouragement from her boss.

That too.

Also, she took Umbridge to the heart, so that would have knocked her back a bit.

Well, her big predictions (Harry, Wormtail, lightning struck tower) just kind of happen. I don't know what Dumbledore could be doing to hold her back.

By withholding information.
By not telling her about her greatest accomplishments.
He has destroyed... no, he has not allowed her to develop confidence and self-esteem.
She does have the gift, but she doesn't know what makes it work.

And that thing about the Grim -- that was Sirius. Circling, drawing nearer...
She saw something, but didn't know how to interpret it.

About the Lightning Struck Tower, she said a bunch of little things.
One was about someone who dislikes the questioner... I forget the rest.
No one bothers to tell her which parts she gets right.

Well, since these big predictions just happen without her knowing it, maybe making her too conscious of it could inhibit them.

I know that there is no doubt that Professor Trelawney can make predictions of the future, but I think that she needs to be told that she has the "eye," so she stops all of this stupid faking stuff.
Maybe if she figures out what she did each time she had a prediction she would be able to chooser when they occur, if that is at all possible.

I am not really up on my future telling skills. lol!

She can predict but something is not right with her ...

Yeah , I also thought she can predict the future .
But it seems most of the prediction about Harry in their daily life aren't quite correct .
