Something I Can't Understand.

Hagrid picked him up as a baby for the same reason he picked him up to go to Hogwarts. Hagrid is one of the best protectors you could have and is completely trustworthy. Plus, you never hear of anyone apparating with an infant. In fact, I have read so much fanfic that I am not sure if side-apparition is something that is canon or not. Thinking back on it, I don't think it is. So could it be you cannot actually apparate with someone else at all, or is it that it is just too dangerous to apparate with an infant?

Thank you for clearing that up. See what reading too much fanfic can do to you. Yes, I did read HBP, but it was a while back. I should probably read the entire series over again before Book 7 is released, just to refresh my memory.

Hehe, I certainly do know what reading too much fanfic can do to a person...every once in awhile I become seriously, completely, tragically addicted...I start forgetting what's canon and what's fanon, lol.

I think it was simply because JK wanted Harry and Hagrid to have a special bond. Having Harry like Hagrid the most out of the teachers.

and hagris didn;t finish school...so he may be forbidden to learn to apparate.

see i think this is a pretty pointless Question. hagrid was the most logical choise to get Harry. he is the most loyal to DD right. Plus the head master never goes to get new students DD went to Get Tom Riddle not the head master so think about it who is better than Hagrid
