Will Harry be able to talk to the portrait though? I don't think that they would let Harry go to the Headmasters office to talk to Dumbledore. And even if they did they wouldn't leave Harry alone because everyone wants to figure out what Harry and Dumbledore did the night he died, ya kno.

And JK did say, somewhere, that she regretted having to kill Dumbledore in the 6th, but it had to be down because Harry had to go on alone.

"They" who? McGonnagal? Why would she give Harry a hard time about that?

We've been through that. If JKR ever makes a flat statement, I'm sure someone will let us know. Until then, it's just fun and games.

I know this is gonna sound really cheesy and I mean the cheesiest that's just how I am, but if Dumbledor really where dead he still lives in the hearts of many. Therefore he would still be alive.

I don' see anything new on JKR's web site. I'm no expert -- maybe something has changed somewhere that is not obvious from the desk top.

The old newspaper on her desk says that she WILL be at Radio City on August 1st & 2nd. It's now August 30th, and it looks like she hasn't been there at all.


On August 2, 2006, after a year of yanking our chains, JKR finally sort-of made an announcement that "...you shouldn't expect Dumbledore to do a Gandalf." and that "Dumbledore is definitely... dead..."

Well, I wasn't there. I can only read the report from "quick-quote-quill.org." But even in the printed text, something is fishy. What does the extra punctuation mean? Did she mumble a qualifier? Was the reporter unsure of something? And why wait a year? And why, as of August 30th, has she not updated her own website? Maybe she's too busy? Or maybe she doesn't think it's... well... earth shattering?

Obi Wan Kanobe told Luke that Anikin was dead. I saw the movie again recently and it was a flat statement. When Luke confronted him about it later, he said that the Anikin who was his good friend no longer existed and that, "from a certain point of view," he was dead.

Dumbledore might not be planning to do a Gandalf, but I believe that he is preparing to do a Merlin. With the Time Traveler theory, Dumbledore could qualify as being dead, "from a certain point of view."

And JKR, herself, could be doing an Obi Wan, from a certain point of view.

I have been saying all along that I will believe her when she makes a flat statement and that, until then, Dumbledore Lives. Well, I've just decided to take it back. It's too late. Even if she does someday say it flat out, I won't believe it.
