Ah, yes. I remember now. Ingenous as usual!

Like King Arthur and Merlin, it will eventually get to the
point where no one remembers which is the original. But --
killing Harry won\'t make any difference.
They'll just figure some way to resurrect him.

I don't know about that. Not in this day and age of mass readership and book production. Besides, I'm sure they've got all sorts of legal stuff around that with these books.

I mean, there's not Lord of the Rings spin-offs, not directly I mean.

I reallly think Harry is going to die, I mean look at the signs! Parents, Sirius,Dumbledore, Its all signs of a tragic hero. If Harry dies then one of the big three is IMO because they are always together. I'm rereading the books from one to six trying to see if she has any hidden meanings lol.

I just read another article where it says Jo told her husband who she was going to kill, and to one of them he shuddered and said, "Oh, not that one."
I think it'll be Ron. And I'll be so sad.

The copyright is good for the life of the author plus 75 years, but you never know.

As for Lord of the Rings -- the heirs published the "Unfinished Tales" & such.
And "Dune" -- I've lost count. The author's son teamed up with some guy
and just kept on writing. And the stuff is really not bad.

Anyway, my main point was that killing Harry would not prevent someone
from continuing Harry's story. If JKR has spent any time worrying about it,
she has probably realized this. Again, she is just playing with us.

I don't want him to, but it would so not be those cheesy "yay-everything-is-happy-now" endings .. which is good.

Fred and Georges inventions do come in handy i must say. But it can't be minor deaths because, if i'm not mistaken and please correct me if i'm wrong, JKR said that the deaths would be major characters or implied something along those lines. I'm guessing maybe McGonagall and Remus. I mean she very well might kill off any one person in the trio but I doubt she would kill two from the trio because that would leave one of them alone and I doubt that she would want to do that. Even if people do ask her to write another, she might or she might one but i doubt she would make a book 8 probably a epilogue or something. and even if she doesn't...thats what fanfics are for!! but all in all I recommend keeping a box of tissues close by when you read book 7.

I imagine the deaths (or at least most of them) would have to be major characters. First Cedric, then Sirius, then Dumbledore (well, not really of course, but you getthe gist ) To kill off only minor characters would be a bit anticlimactic.

I don't know why I didn't remember this before, but I do believe Arthur has a good chance of dying. I had forgotten why until now. The name Arthur is obviously a reference to King Arthur.
