there are some native birds that you can take as pets - but you need a special wild-life licence before they let you legally do so.

I imagine Owls would have similar restrictions to ownership depending on where you live and what clearance you have. We have pet stores here that will sell you native lizards and snakes and birds - and help arrange the necessary paperwork for you.

We had peacocks as kids ....they were beutiful ....but 'bloody' noisy !

Peacocks are great watchdogs ...you can't shut them up unless you throw
them a bit of raw meat ! Although mine ~ Griselda .... used to like it if i wave something colourful at her.
Pet Peacocks? What I wouldn't give for that!
Actually...doesn't Lucius have albino peacocks or something at his Manor? The details are fuzzy now.

Must chime in here and agree. Peacocks make beautiful and wonderful pets, but VERY noisy. A friend used to have a few. My little flock of pet chickens is a poor substitute, but they are mine. Family ridicule kept me out of any peacock pets......

Does anyon know exactly why it is illegal to have owls as pet. I thnk its probably because some of them are endangered species
