Harry and Ginny

I wonder why JKR chose to write Harry and Ginny coming together in Book VI the way she did. Sure, Harry might have good reason to believe that Ginny still "fancies" him, and deeply too if Ginny was willing to jeopardize her friendship with Hermione for Harry's sake. It seems to me that JK chose to hide the specifics of their love affair, prune it from the book coz after all HP is a children's fantasy book series. But I have gotten so involved with the books that well, i wanted more. Coz I myself, no matter how much I love a guy, at least I would like to have been given a warning or been asked my permission before he kisses me in front of a roomful of people. Tho' I promise he wouldn't need to make too much of an effort to do so!

Harry and Ginny don't really seem all that compatible to me.
But love is unexpected no?

I once thought that it might be because if Harry and Ron both liked Hermione , it would be too complex . Well , never mind . Harry evetually married Ginny and that's all .

Only if they had walked in on her, like Ron did. I highly doubt she snogged Dean in the common room like Ron did with Lavender. Ginny has more class than that.

I think that the whole harry/ginny thing is just ok though... I mean even from just watching a couple of the first movies you can definitely tell that hermione and ron have a thing for each other, but with harry and ginny I didn't really see it coming (even though my friends told me) until I read all the books.

Wasn't the absolute first time Harry and Ginny kissed right after winning a Quidditch match, in front of a room full of people? I forget the exact details but I'm almost positive there was an image of Ron holding the Cup and looking like he'd been hit over the head with it before giving Harry a nod to say "if you must".
Something along those lines.
