Default Can you review year levels

Hi,

My question is ;

Can you review the witch/wizard year levels and bring them down?

It's taken me at least 15 hours a week for 3 months to get to 505 posts.

It was hard work.

At this rate it will take me 15months to get to 2,500 post if ...I keep coming in at 15 hours a week.( A couple of exceptional people can get it done real quick. I'm just normal )

And to graduate ...... 8,000...posts ??? I think it's too much.

This is my oppinion I don't know how other's feel.

Thank you
Shirlii

But why do we care?
What's the pay-off for reaching the upper levels?

We're all childish Hogwarts students at heart, pleased at small successes, gratifyed to know, that yes, we aren't new or naive to the world of Harry Potter, and we have the graduation for first, second, third, etc. year to prove it.

Besides, we like the title and the recognition. (Secretly, of course. )
So knowing it's possible to suprass Hogwarts and continue to move forward in the Wizarding World (however imagined or virtual it may be) is placating. (Though that's not quite the correct word, for it...)

placating...hmm perhaps 'encouraging of further participation'.

if it was too easy to work your way up the ranks - everyone would do it - and the level of 'cheating/spamming' would also increase exponentially. but- if there was a grade change every 200 posts - that is an awful lot! - I think that seems fairer.

psyduck - I also think that posts should have to be about something Harry Potter. not just discussing the weather.

I agree, think about lowering the numbers slightly?

i agree with the if it was to easy everyone would do it and it wouldn't be such a joy when you finally move up a level

but in saying that

this site doesn't get many people posting other then the normal ones

and most of us post in the RPG's lately.

so if it was lowered just slightly

it would be a lot more benifical to those that do come on here all the time but don't have others to post with or to save them posting in threads that are long ago over.

at least then we can bulid up slightly.

Muggle // 0 (Can post an introduction, but cannot start posts in other forums)
Squib // 5
First Year // 20
Second Year // 100
Third Year // 200 (eligible for admission to Hogsmeade?)
Fourth Year // 400
Fifth Year // 700
I have no problem with the above.

...and maybe this isn't too bad???
500 posts to get here: Househead 5th Year // 1200 then
400 posts to get hereixth Year // 1800 then
700 posts (What the?) :Househead 6th Year // 2500 then

--------------------------------------------------------
But I don't like what comes next!

1500 more posts Seventh Year // 4000 then
2000 ...more Prefect // 6000 then
2000 ...more Hogwarts Graduate // 8000 then
2000 ...more Ministry of Magic // 10,000

This seems like a massive time comittment before you graduate and a bit of a turn off ...if you like climbing a ladder ... albeit in this fantasy world.

If you only lower a few levels .... I'd ask you to change from 7th year upwards ...like...I don't know .... x3 posts a day x 365 days ...or something.

I think the above would be difficult to achieve. Over 10,000 posts.

Yeah, I agree with shirl, I think up to sixth year seems reasonable, but getting to househead sixth year and above seems impossible.

Also, posts should have to contribute to conversation, and not just spam up the boards (i.e. talking to Hagrid doesn't count, neither should some of the other stuff that gets on here- like extremely repetetive posts).
