years and houses?

whats with the houses? like how can i get into one or what is it?

and whats with the years i dont get it.....

help please

Welcome to Harry Potter Chat. Hopefully you will decide to post an introduction in Hogwarts Express.

In the meantime, your questions were moved to the correct forum. I'm sure many people on here can answer you or you can simply read the many threads already posted in the Common Room & Howlers.

Years are based on the number of posts. The more you post, the number of years increases.

The houses are simply your choice. Go into "Your Options" and choose.

BTW: I see you are playing with the living avatars. Again, the more you post, the more points you get and therefore, the more clothes (hint) you may purchase for your people.

I'm new too, but from what I've picked I think you have to have been a member for a while and make a lot of message board posts before you move up in years (or maybe it's simply based on time!). But as for which house you're in all you have to do is edit your profile and there's a place there for you to write down whichever House you prefer. This site is pretty low level. They should have either a drop down menu or a place to click on the House you want, but you have to write everything in. Also, you really have to look around to find info. It's kind of irritating, really. But stick with it. For the most part it's a pretty fun site.
