It's not in my vocabulary, but I don't mind seeing it. The few times I've seen it, it was in context and kind-of made sense. Quote:
I have no idea how this stuff works for you moderators. ===================================== Speaking of you moderators, how much of this stuff do you actually read? How do I know that you have seen, for example, the two questions above? What would happen if I hit that "REPORT" button on my own post? Would a bunch of annoying bells and whistles go off that would make you mad at me? |

Would a bunch of annoying bells and whistles go off that would make you mad at me? [/b][/quote] Sorry for taking a while to reply to those questions. I actually opened a new page to reply but ... got side tracked ... So: Would technology allow it? Yes. It would. But for that to work, we would have to arrange every member into "trustworthy" and "untrustworthy" groups. That would take a long while. Would we allow it? Probably not. I talked to Dumbledore about it, and he said it was just a good idea to keep it on for everyone. Maybe once we get a better version of these forums we can change some settings. Is "lol" really that bad? It's not just lol. It's spam. And yes, we get spammed. The server gets hit every eight seconds. If you hadn't noticed, the site is down every few weeks .. that's because of spam. How much of the stuff do we actually read? We try and read all of it. But sometimes we miss some. That's how we end up with ads in the forums. Would there be whistles? Only if your sound is on. Kidding! No. We check out every reported post. And we don't get mad about it. |

The newer versions come out when they come out. We can't speed up the people who make them. Hopefully when the next version comes out we can be able to change the settings, and lower the flood control time. |
