Tonks is no pure blood!! Remember that Tonks Mum, Andromeda (Malfoy's Aunt!) married "muggle-born" Ted Tonks??? That's why she was blasted off the Black family tree. I think this might mean that Ted tonls is/was awizard but muggle-born like Lily and Hermione.
I reckon the Sorting hat reads potential but, just as the Sorting hat says, it's up to the individual to really decide their fate by their choices and actions. It's interesting that which house you were in doesn't matter when you grow up. Kinda like what class you were in in high school really doesn't matter as soon as you leave.
I reckon we're gonna see a bit more communication of individuals betwen the houses at Hogwarts now the war has begun. The DA members certainly came from all over, well 'all' but Slytherin. There's a whisper out there that Knotts' son, who's a Slytherin (and whose dad's a Deatheater), might join our side.
I'm more interested in seeing if malfoy will come back to hogwarts. i mean he'll have to, what's harry without Draco?? I wonder what he's gonna do???? How exciting!!
