She needed guts, true, but I think Hermione's intelligence was more important. Otherwise she would have been replacable by Ginny. Quite a few of the Gryffindors had guts, but it was because Hermione had brains that she was so crucial to the pratical problem-solving and knowledge base necessary for the Trio's, and thus the story's success. |
