Of course, as TIRADE I just go with convulted.
But the fallback explanation was that it was just a blood-bond. Harry and Voldemort's life forces were linked by the ritual, and that was strengthened by the other powerful magical connections they had- Harry's scar as Voldemort's Horcrux, Lily's protection for Harry against Voldemort later also carried, in some manner, by Voldemort himself, and Voldemort's reborn body created from Harry's blood.
