I think the biggest reason he didn't like Harry was he looked so much like his father. And Snape really didn't like James. And when Harry seemed, to Snape, to be acting just like his father, not his mother, all he saw was James. Except when he looked Harry in the eye, then he saw Lily. His intentions were to save all that he had left of Lily, and that was in Harry. Seeing one of Harrys children named after him, I think, would give Snape a little of Lily that was never his. To connect them in a way. And I think Snape would have gaditude for that, maybe not show it but feel it. |
