In Book 1, chapter 5, Hagrid and Harry go to Ollivanders Wand Shop.
Mr. Ollivander says, "Rubeus Hagrid. How nice to see you again...Oak, 16 inches, rather bendy wasn't it?" The he says, "Good wand that one. But I suppose they snapped it in half when you got expelled?" Of course Rubeus tells Ollivander that he still has the pieces and Ollivander says, "Well I hope you're not using them to do magic." Rubeus says "No" but of course he has the pieces in his pink umbrella.
Rubeus was expelled for contributing to the death of Moaning Myrtle and Dumbledore hired him as gamekeeper. Now however, since we know that he was not responsible for anyone's death, why won't the Ministry of Magic restore Hagrid's wand to him?
What do you think?
