Default Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Epilogue: The next generation (spoiler)

I hated the epilogue. Although i did want to find out what the characters got up to after Hogwarts I didn't feel it was in keeping with the rest of the series. It seemed too rushed and too perfect and ' they all lived happily ever after'. We'd spent the last 10 years slowly following these kids as they grew up, watching them as they started school, feeling for them as they became frustrated through adolescence, blushing with them as they experienced their first crush, feeling nervous as they sat their exams and finally accompanying them through their final adventure, then suddenly they are all grown up with kids of their own and I felt as though I had been cheated of those 19 years. It was like someone had pressed the fastforward button and all I wanted to do was press rewind, but I couldn't. I'd rather have found out that information at a later date like we did for some of the other details ie Luna's career and dumbledores background. Whenever I have re read the book since I have missed out the epilogue and feel the book has a much better ending as it is.
