Yeah a clue lies in the CoS but, according to JKR on her website, there is "No trace of the HBP storyline in the Chambers..Rather it relates to a discovery Harry made in the 'Chambers' that foreshadows something that he finds out in the 'Prince'" I don't know what this means but I think it suggests that it's not so much a character that comes back as a power or possibilty???? Paseltongue? The Sorting Hat? OR the diary maybe?? JKR also says that 'magicals' (saying 'wizards' is alittle sexists don't you think?) can communicate with each other in many different ways "even after they're dead" and that the sorting hat, pictures, penseive and ghosts were an example of this. She didn't mention the diary but maybe... something...? <_<
If V/ Tom Riddle did it once, what's to stop him putting his spirit into hundreds of objects which suck the life out of people and come to life in their own right = hundreds of Voldemorts.
JKR says that the mirror will play apart in 6&7. I know this has been mentioned elsewhere but Sirius's mirror (now smashed at the bottom of Harry's trunk) could turn out to be something like the diary....NAAA, I'm reaching now. I think it is/was just a communicator. JKR does say that Order of the Pheonix members have ways to communicate with each other and we'd seen a member use this method. Is it mirrors? Clocks?
