How can any of us mere mortal readers possibly say who we like/ who's our favourite out of charaters we do not know. JKR has not let us in to their character, natures; families; trials and tribul..... you get the idea. It's not fair to put Cedric up with the others; we met his parents, saw him help Harry and visa versa and saw him dd-d-dd-ii-eeee...(you get the idea), of course we like him best 'cause we know him from the swarm. Really, I 'know' none of these characters.

What amzes me is that JKR puts in characters (where the movies rip them out- but that's another insightful story/soapbox rant) like Agatha Christie; so that you're not sure if she's offering you a generous helping of tittilating morsels of truth or red herring. She is so cool
