He definitely had SOME loyalty to Dumbledore in particular- but he was loyal to the cause, not the person. (But I think that's the more appropriate thing anyway. You don't join the Light just because Dumbldore is the head of the Order. :/) And, yes, he was loyal to the cause not really for the right reasons either- but they weren't that twisted. I really don't think they were that much more horrible than just being loyal to something because your parents told you to, or something like that. I think killing Dumbledore was the biggest show of loyalty to Dumbledore, because Dumbledore was asking a lot of Severus witht that little manuveur. Played it dirty too. And Severus still did it, not only because it was necessary but also partly because he did feel he some commitment to Dumbledore and he had been specifically asked. |
