That is true in the books as well as in the movies now that you mention it. I hope the next movie lets the twins pull a few more tricks. Maybe then Harry will have a few laughs. Can you imagine the beginning of the movie where the Weasleys are stuck in the Dursleys blocked up fireplace? Then they break out and trash the Dursley living room and Dudley eats that Ton Tongue Toffee. Harry's got to love that!
