Re: Opinion: The life and death of the Harry Potter saga Well, not to antagonize anyone in particular, but as far as literary quality I have to say Lord of the Rings most definitely surpasses Harry Potter. So you could be right about that- and although Narnia wasn't quite as good or attention catching, I think it remains a great fantasy series for younger kids. Still, we can only hope that future generations will have some idea of what we mean when we say "Pottermania". I think one of Harry Potter's strong points is that it can entice so many fans, despite, possibly, that it isn't really the most well written. (But it certainly is one of the best. It's just, you know, not a Kite Runner.) |
