TMR wasn't a Muggleborn, techincally, he was a Half-Blood. He was raised as a Muggle, in a Muggle orphanage, but he thought his father had to be a wizard. He grew up in an atmosphere that probably skewed his view of Muggles for his entire life, because the orphanage was not a welcoming or nurturing place- he even asked if it was possible he stay at Hogwarts over the summer instead of at the orphanage.
Once he found out that he was descended from Slytherin, he most likely became obsessed with the idea of continuing his ancestor's legacy as well as exacting his own revenge. |
