CS Lewis has been quoted that there was no religious implications in Chronicles of Narnia - just a desire to tell a good story - and yet people keep trying to put them in. | I think that brings up the most important and general point- that authors of all stories, consicouly or unconsiously embed their own culture into their writings, if it be religion, history, setting, or personal perspective. It's something you can't escape- you, as a writer, put a little (and sometimes a lot) of yourself into your work, and it does show- but sometimes it makes it all the better. I don't think this something you can really deny, but at the same time it's not done with the intent that perhaps the people who read believe so. |
